Известният илюзионист Астор е починал на 78-годишна възраст. Това потвърдиха за DarikNews.bg от близкото обкръжение на мага.
Напоследък той е имал здравословни проблеми, свързани с онкологично заболяване.
Антраник Шаварш Арабаджиян, както е истинското име на Астор е роден на 18 ноември 1943 г. в град Шумен.
Първият му досег с фокусите идва от баба му, а на 12 години организира в кварталния парк цирк, в който показва нещата, които е научил.
На 18-годишна възраст самоукият илюзионист е навлязъл в тайните на тази професия. Първата му официална работа е в пътуваща трупа, в която свири на контрабас.
В София успява да се запознае с тогавашните доайени на българското илюзионно изкуство като Мистер Сенко и Факира Мити.
БГНЕСАстор е единственият илюзионист в Европа, който е награден със „Златният Оскар“ от Международното братство на маговете през 1981 г. Също така е собственик на магичен театър „Астор“, където се намира и къщата на мистер Сенко. В кариерата си е направил над 16 000 представления по целия свят.
Магът е носител на наградата „Икар“ на Съюза на артистите в България в категорията „Вариететно изкуство“, за атрактивност и оригиналност на илюзионен номер „Али Баба“ (2008).
