Григор Димитров за пореден път показа голямо сърце и привързаност към родния си град. Най-добрият ни тенисист е дарил 30 000 лева на Езиковата гимназия в Хасково „Проф. Асен Златаров“.
Това е прочутото училище, което изстрелва един от новите политически лидери Асен Василев към американския „Харвард“. Той обаче досега не е дарил и левче на школото.
През тази година гимназията чества половин век, а Григор прави един от най-големите подаръци. Той от години живее в Монте Карло, ни никога не забравя любимото Хасково и при всеки възможен случай се прибира у дома и помага на града.
В същата гимназия майката на Димитров – Мария, от години работи като учител по физическо възпитание. Тя е любимка на тийнейджърите и е един от най-усмихнатите преподаватели в гимназията. Григор е направил дарението без излишна показност и без да иска по никакъв начин да парадира с него. Димитров е големият любимец и пример за децата в Хасково. Именно в Езиковата гимназия е открит неговият първи фенклуб още през 2014 г.

„През тази година Григор дари 30 000 лева. С тях направихме нов Кабинет по биология и здравно образование, оборудван с модерна техника. Освен това направихме вентилация във Физкултурни салон, каквато до този момент нямаше. Бяхме приятно изненадани от предложението на фондацията на Григор Димитров да дари средства, като те ни попитаха за какво са ни нужни най-много. Решихме да ги използваме за това, тъй като тази година имаме нова паралелка с биология, но нямахме оборудван кабинет.
Едновремешните са били занемарени и не са използвани. Така направихме кабинета по биология със средствата на Григор Димитров. В него освен другото оборудване, има електронни микроскопи, които имат безжична връзка с големи екрани, върху които се прожектира на учениците. По традиция има голям интерес към тези природонаучни дисциплини в езиковата гимназия. Голяма част от лекарите в нашия район са завършили Езиковата гимназия“.
