За хирургичната интервенция съобщи лично той.Лидерът на „Републиканци за България“ сподели кадър от болничното легло и написа следното:„Днес ми направиха операция на дясното рамо в „Софиямед“ – разкъсано сухожилие. Операцията беше артроскопска и мина успешно – огромни благодарности на доц. Русимов и целия му екип! Убедих се лично, че българските лекари са на световно ниво! Благодаря на всички в болницата за грижата, вниманието и усмивките! Сега започва възстановяването – пътят към пълното завръщане във форма и към спорта, защото спортът е здраве!“….
