Преди 140 години в града е обянето обединението на Княжество България и Източна Румелия.В 20:30 часа на площад „Съединение“ в града, пред едноименния паметник, започна тържествена заря-проверка.В нея участват представителни формирования от Съвместното командване на специалните операции, 110-ти логистичен полк и 91-ви инженерен батальон за обща поддръжка от Сухопътните войски, Трета авиационна база и 24-та авиационна база от състава на Военновъздушните сили….
