lernt er Dolly kennen, wobei sich beide auf den ersten Blick ineinander verlieben – ein weiteres komisches Element, denn Dolly ist in Bezug auf die Körpergröße das komplette Gegenstück zum
Beißer. Am Ende des Films wird er von Bond in ein Haifischbecken befördert und übersteht den Kampf gegen den Hai, indem er ihn durch einen Biss tötet (ursprünglich sollte der Hai ihn töten,
jedoch wurde das Drehbuch umgeschrieben). In Der Spion, der mich liebte wird Beißer von Stromberg als Killer engagiert.
Vorbild für Q ist Charles Fraser-Smith, der für den MI6 und den SOE für die
Beschaffung von Spezialausrüstung zuständig war.
Gleichzeitig ist dies die erste Verkörperung von M, die auch nach seiner
Beförderung von Bond gelegentlich noch mit bürgerlichem Namen angesprochen wird.
Bond ist zuerst nicht begeistert von ihm, ändert jedoch seine Meinung im Lauf der Handlung
von Skyfall, was sich nicht zuletzt darin ausdrückt, dass er Mallory am Ende des
Films demonstrativ mit „M“ anspricht. Der Inlandsgeheimdienst MI5 wurde zu dieser Zeit
von 1992 bis 1996 erstmals von einer Frau (Stella Rimington) geführt.
