Унгарското председателство на Съвета на ЕС е изготвило решението за пълноправното приемане на България и Румъния в Шенген. В черновата на документа, с който БНТ разполага, пише, че от 1 януари 2025 г. се премахват проверките по вътрешните сухопътни граници с и между България и Румъния.Припомня се и фактът, че на 31 март 2024 година като първа стъпка от приемането на двете страни в Шенген бяха премахнати проверките вътрешните въздушни и морски граници с двете страни и между тях….
