Ето шест от най-често срещаните (и трудни за приемане) признаци, че животът ви не е това, което искате и трябва да промените начина си на мислене, за да постигнете щастие и удовлетворение:
1. Стремите се да отговорите на очакванията на всички останали, с изключение на вас. – Твърде много хора живеят живот, който не е техният. Живеят така, както другите смятат за правилно… така, както родителите им смятат, че е най-добре за тях … както приятелите, учителите, правителството и медиите мислят, че е най-добре. Те пренебрегват вътрешния глас и интуицията си. Толкова са заети да удовлетворят всички останали и да се съобразят с очакванията им, че губят контрол над живота си. Забравят какво ги прави щастливи, какво искат, от какво имат нужда … и в крайна сметка забравят за себе си. Имаме един живот – тук и сега. Трябва го вземем в свои ръце и да не позволяваме другите да отвличат вниманието ни от нашата истина.
2. Обвинявате всички останали. – Откажете се от нуждата да обвинявате другите за това, което имате или нямате, за това, което чувствате или не чувствате. Спрете да преотстъпвате на другите силата и отговорността за вашия живот. Или вие имате власт над собствените си проблеми, или те ще вземат власт над вас. Точка!
3. Оплаквате се непрекъснато. – Постоянната нужда да се оплаквате от какво ли не – хора, ситуации и т.н. – не води до нищо освен до нещастие и депресия. Никой не може да ви направи нещастни, нито една ситуация не може да ви депресира, осен ако не й позволите. Чувствата не са резултат от ситуацията, а от това как гледате на нея. Не е лесно да се приеме, но това е истината. Вашият живот е такъв, какъвто го виждате. Не подценявайте силата на собствените си мисли.
4. Не сте готови да се провалите. – Посредствеността е удобна; защото избираме да не опитваме. Защото е по-лесно да говорите как ще научите или направите нещо ново, отколкото действително да го направите. Защото мислите, че всичко е прекалено трудно, така че просто ще го направите „утре“. Защото мразите работата си, но не търсите нова; защото е по-лесно да отхвърлите отхвърлянето. Излезте от това състояние. Докато се размотавате и се проваляте в това да опитате, трябва всъщност да сте там, навън, и да се опитвате да се провалите, да предизвиквате себе си, да учите нови неща, да се проваляте, напредвайки, колкото се може по-бързо. Желанието за успех трябва да надмогне страха от провал. Защото, ако прекалено много се страхувате да не се провалите, няма да направите това, което е нужно, за да успеете.
5. Оставяте страха да решава бъдещето ви. – Страхът е чувство, а не факт. Ние сами го създаваме. Всичко е в ума ни. Променете нещата отвътре и отвън всичко ще си дойде на мястото. Както казва Франклин Делано Рузвелт: „Единственото нещо, от което трябва да се страхуваме, е самият страх.“ Помнете това. Не позволявайте на страха да решава бъдещето ви. Нека вашите мечти да бъдат по-големи от страховете ви и действията – по-силни от думите ви.
6. Вярвате, че най-доброто е вече зад вас. – Това може би е най-трудното, но трябва да оставим миналото да си отиде! Да, никак не е лесно, особено когато то изглежда толкова по-добре от настоящето, а бъдещето – толкова несигурно. Но имайте предвид, че настоящият момент е всичко, което имате и с което някога ще разполагате. Миналото, което днес копнеете да се върне, вероятно сте го пренебрегвали, когато е било настояще. Не си причинявайте това отново. Не пропилявайте настоящето си с едно минало, което няма бъдеще.
